It's self-portrait Tuesday! And boy do I have one for ya. (Patri, start rolling your eyes now...)
Here's the one I intended to post.
I took these at a sticker booth outside the grocery store a couple of weeks ago -- they're going on a few letters + postcards I've been meaning to write.
So far so good.
But I had some errands to run this morning, and on the way I saw this chick with a killer haircut. I hate my hair, I thought. Maybe if I just tweak it -- just a little bit -- it'll be better. But just a little change...
It was all downhill from there.
As is generally the case when someone cuts their own hair, a little bit turned into a little more which turned into a lot.I was still a little unsure about it here. But
UPDATE: It's a couple of days later and I'm liking it a lot. There are some things I'll change when it's time for a "trim" (ha!), but until then I'm pretty satisfied. It's not uber-cool, but it's definitely one of the better 'cuts I've had! Here's a better pic.
After some more "tweaking" I've arrived at something I'm happy with. Ben has got to make sure the back side is presentable (let's just say I crossed my fingers on that part). As far as I can tell, though, the 'cut looks pretty good: afterward, less than a block from the apartment and on my way to the grocery store, this dude rolls up in his sleek black SUV and starts hitting on me big-time. It's the first time that's happened so far. Maybe it's coincidence but I'm taking it as a good sign. I wonder what Ben will say...
Coming up later this week, a Thanksgiving special: Ben and Martha play caterers at the Sharon's Thanksgiving party. Hah! Place your bets now on whether the main course will be pizza.

[whistles] Wow, mmmm! What a great haircut! Maybe someday I will be brave enough to get mine cut into some sort of style... The most impressive thing is that you did most of that all on your own! Bravo!
Yeah, I always get nervous once the scissors come out, but you are looking good. Although the hair at the bottom of the shower is pretty sobering.
Your turkey will be a hit, especially after Monsieur Davide weighed in.
just in case...
